Colnatarun Cottage, Colonsay, Southern Hebrides
The Island of Colonsay is a two hour ferry trip (or a 25min flight) from Oban on the dramatic west coast of Scotland. Measuring only eight miles long and three across, Colonsay boasts a population density of 14 people to a square mile. The island truly is Scotland in miniature with dramatic rocky coastlines, caves, secluded beaches of pristine sand, soaring birds of prey and rugged sea cliffs hosting colonies of seabirds.
Colnatarun Cottage is a converted croft building located in the crofting community of Kilchattan in the centre of the island. Providing sleeping accommodation for six to eight and fantastic views over the island to the Atlantic coast, the house is the ideal base for a week of exploring, walking, birdwatching or simply taking a chance to draw breath of clear island air. As soon as the ferry sets off from the Calmac terminal in Oban you will feel yourself start to unwind as the pace of life slows to the laid back stroll of an island holiday on the beautiful west coast of Scotland. The perfect antidote to the rush and bustle of the daily routine. |
